Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist to join our team. As a Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service and support to our clients and their beloved pets. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a genuine love for animals.

Duties:

VETERINARY ASSISTANT:

  • - Feed, bathe, and exercise animals.
  • - Clean and disinfect cages, kennels, and examination and operating rooms.
  • - Restrain animals during examination and laboratory procedures.
  • - Maintain and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment.
  • - Monitor and care for animals after surgery.

VETERINARY RECEPTIONIST:

  • - Greet clients and their pets with a warm and friendly demeanor
  • - Schedule appointments and manage the appointment calendar
  • - Answer phone calls, emails, and inquiries from clients
  • - Collect and update client information in the database
  • - Assist with check-in and check-out procedures
  • - Process payments and maintain accurate financial records
  • - Coordinate with veterinary staff to ensure smooth workflow
  • - Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception

SKILLS:

  • - Knowledge of veterinary critical care procedures
  • - Proficiency in dog training techniques
  • - Familiarity with laboratory procedures and equipment
  • - Experience in pet sitting and animal care
  • - Ability to handle animal restraint when necessary
  • - Understanding of animal husbandry practices
  • - Knowledge of equine care is a plus
  • - Understanding of animal physiology and behavior
  • - Familiarity with aseptic technique in a medical setting

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $13.10 - $13.69 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
